Vice Chairman of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group
Mr. Yang Jian currently serves as Vice Chairman of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Company Ltd. (Geely Group). Under his leadership, the Geely Group has continued to improve its performance evaluation and operational management systems. In addition, thanks to an increasingly balanced new energy business and the application and adoption of new technologies and materials, Geely’s product quality and brand image have continued to improve.
Since joining the Geely Group in 1996, Mr. Yang has held several key positions, including Head of the Geely Automobile Research Institute, Executive Vice President of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, and President of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group. Under Mr. Yang’s leadership between 2004 and 2012, the team actively responded to market changes, drafted the sales blueprint and achieved fast growth. Since 2007, Mr. Yang has led the company’s strategic transition from an “internationalization strategy” to a “globalization strategy,” laying a solid foundation for Geely Group to continue developing quickly and effectively in the future.
Mr. Yang has played a leading role in Geely’s acquisitions of Australian company Drivetrain Systems International Pty Ltd. (DSI), London Electronic Vehicle Company (LEVC) and Volvo Cars as well as other international acquisitions. He has also established a modern corporate governance structure with a board of directors and a management committee that is held accountable for the group’s operations.
Mr. Yang graduated from Zhejiang Broadcasting and TV University with a major in engineering management and is a certified senior economist and senior engineer.
